Train tickets with around the globe and local car rental service. Around 4 pm, Phillip dropped us off to ferry back to Centraal station.Get exclusive travel deals and enjoy the award-winning customer service! We had a private tour and bought a lot of cheese after trying and loving so many varieties! We drove through Broek en Waterland and declined the option to walk around because we were tired by midafternoon. Our next stop was De Simonehoeve, a traditional cheese farm and clog factory located near Volendam. We drove and walked through Edam and stopped at a cute candy store. We stopped in Monnickendam and saw the carillon at the strike of noon, walked around and had lunch at Eetcafe 'De Ouwe Blauwe'. You can't see this part of the country on a bus or mass transit! The country roads were why we chose this tour, and it's exactly what we got. We got to see the spice mill and the saw mill, but Phillip gave us plenty of time to learn and explore. We met Phillip at the Centraal Station in Amsterdam and quickly left the city for Zaanse Schans. His varied experiences and especially his past work with Zaanse Schans gave us "ins" that you could get from no other guide. This was absolutely the best day of our vacation in The Netherlands! Phillip is the BEST.
